We keep choosing Four Points Tunjungan for our annual Q1 work trip because it’s an easy walk to Gedung Ekonomi and right by a shopping mall. I stayed Jan 18-20, and once again the people made the visit. From the UG Floor Welcome Lobby and L Floor Receptionist to the cleaning staff, everyone was smiling and welcoming. It felt as warm and consistent as my stay at Marriott Yogyakarta at the end of Dec 25 for New Year. Please keep that up. For me, a good stay starts with a friendly greeting when you arrive. Breakfast is tasty and thoughtful, even if the selection isn’t huge. I’d rather have food that’s good than lots of choices that aren’t. The team greets you, takes you to a table, asks about tea or coffee, and makes sure you’re not left waiting for food. They bring it over after checking your table number, and some even remember where you’re sitting. The pecel and daily special are worth trying. At other Indonesia Marriott hotels I’ve noticed In**mie, but Four Points Tunjungan’s other breakfast food is good enough that I don’t feel the need for instant noodles. The room was clean and well maintained, just like last year, and the bed made for a comfortable night’s sleep. The AC runs colder than at most hotels, so you may want to start with a higher temperature. The sink drain valve had a small gap on the first night, leaving a puddle whenever we washed our faces. It was fixed quickly the next morning. A female supervisor or manager asked how things were while we ate breakfast, which seems like a good time to check in with the many business guests. We love staying here and recommend it. We hope to return next Q1, or perhaps sooner, and hope the hotel keeps what’s already working and makes it even better.

We had a bit of a muddle at the start when our taxi driver took us to a Sheraton we’d visited before, but the stay at Four Point by Sheraton has been lovely. The restaurant team made us feel welcome and valued, especially Amy, who was friendly and very helpful. It’s been a long time since we’ve met such a hospitable hotel team. Breakfast has a great range of options, and the food and beverage staff were professional and cheerful throughout. Housekeeping and the front desk were just as pleasant. We’re looking forward to the rest of our stay. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍

The breakfast team kept checking in to see if guests needed anything brought over, like more water or juice. Dilla had a big smile and offered to refill my water, while the other staff were busy coming by to give their best service. That kind of hospitality is rare, even in Jakarta, and this is Surabaya. I’ve never had service like this at a seven-star hotel, though this is Four Points By sheraton Tunjungan Plaza. Thank you, Four Points by Sheraton Tunjungan Plaza. Keep up the great service. The room wasn’t very spacious, but it was tidy, clean, and comfortable. The service was top notch, especially from the friendly, helpful restaurant staff. Being right next to the huge mall complex is super convenient. The elevator could use some attention, though, since the wait can sometimes be long.

Breakfast was a highlight. We could order dishes ahead to be served the next day, and the crispy pork bacon and avocado toast came out very well. Everyone in the breakfast area was friendly and happy to offer more. The hotel is also adjacent to Tunjungan Plaza, one of the largest shopping malls in Surabaya. The rest of the stay was very good too. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff even suggested I sign up as a member since it was my first visit. The room was clean and organized, with a comfy bed, a shower that worked well, an ironing desk, a hair dryer, and a decent choice of TV channels. There’s a good-sized pool and a kids’ area as well. We’ll definitely come back.
