The location is hard to beat, right in the Atoom Megah area among rows of shops, and within a four-story ruko (rumah toko). The stairs are really something, though. The lodge seems to make up for that with strong AC, a hot shower, and a little kitchen with free coffee, tea, and a water dispenser. I booked after finding the accommodation description confusing. It sounded like the room was private for the whole stay, but that turned out to mean only part of it. Check the details for each room type carefully, especially if you don't expect to share a bathroom.

My friends couldn't believe a place this inexpensive could provide good service. The WiFi worked well, and the shared bathroom was clean with hot water that worked properly. The room was fine too, though the floor was a little dusty. I'd read about lots of mosquitoes and brought repellent, but there were only a normal amount.

I picked this place for its location, with Kya Kya, atoom bazaar, Ampel bazaar, and ITC mall all walkable. The food stalls just outside were a bonus. The bathroom and toilet were okay, though they could scrub off the limescale and sweep up the cigarette butts. The room corridor smelled of smoke, and you could hear voices through the gypsum walls. There’s no lift, just narrow stairs, so big luggage is awkward. My first room’s air con didn’t work. I was moved to another room that hadn’t been cleaned yet. The woman spent under five minutes claiming to clean and mop, change two sheets and two pillowcases. Maybe she was superwoman, but the bag she carried didn’t have any crumpled bedding, and the sheets and pillowcases smelled. There were mosquitoes too, so I had to use my own sleeping bag. I didn’t dare touch their blankets because they clearly hadn’t been washed. I had to ask several times for a receipt for my payment. WiFi got unreliable at night, especially after 8pm. The room didn’t have the coffee and tea facilities the listing claimed, so I had to go downstairs to make a hot drink. There was only Kopi turbruk.

For a low-cost stay near the commerce district, this hotel worked well for business or other travel. The rooms felt cosy, and the service was good enough to make visitors feel at home.

Good value for a budget stay. Its location makes it easy to walk for whatever you need, with a shopping center, street food, a historic church, landmarks, and other places nearby.
