There are lots of good Middle Eastern food choices around KHAS Ampel Surabaya Hotel, which was a nice extra. I stayed two nights while passing through Surabaya and found the place easy to get to. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and polite. A handy option for a short visit.

The breakfast buffet was the highlight for me, with a good range of local dishes and decent desserts, though drink choices were limited. I picked Khas Hotel for its location when I wanted a change in Surabaya. The lobby was clean and the room was okay. Morning staff were polite and helpful, but at night the front desk staff were hard to find, and the lobby air conditioning was turned off while guests were sitting there. It's okay overall, but there are plenty of things to improve.

The room was comfortable and a good size, with clean towels, hot water, and cold AC. I was glad to find a prayer mat and prayer hijab in the room too, more than I expected. The breakfast tasted good, and the service, location, and amenities are good value.

On my second visit, after the hotel changed its name from Pesonna to Khas Surabaya, I found the room comfortable enough and the breakfast satisfactory. The staff provided very good service. I'd stay here again if I return to Surabaya.

The food was tasty, and the receptionist was very kind. Our room was clean. We weren't told there would be a gebyar merdeka staycation, though.
