Lamora Kota Lama Surabaya Hotel

The gym is unavailable while it's under construction, and the hotel has only recently rebranded, so rooms are still being upgraded. For now, the value for money is almost there. The location works well for work in north and central Surabaya, with the port and station nearby. I had a complaint that took some time to resolve, but the staff eventually went above and beyond. Room service ate some snacks 😂. I don't mind, and I can't say whether they ate them or threw them away, so I'm not blaming anyone. I just found it funny they could have asked.

The location is great, right by the heritage quartiers of Sunan Ampel and Chinatown. Rooms are excellent, with good sound insulation, comfortable beds, and toilets. Fresh drinking water is available on every floor. The staff are friendly and professional, and many speak English. Special thanks to Tiara and Izy for their help and useful advice during my stay.

Getting around on foot was easy: the Heroes Monument, train station, Chinatown, and Arab quarter were all within about 15 minutes. The hotel itself felt modern and very clean, with a ground-floor restaurant and a large parking area. My room was spacious and tidy, and there was free water in the corridor. The staff were friendly and spoke English very well.

We stayed at Pop! Hotel Stasiun Kota on August 15/16. The location near the well-known Pasar Atom was convenient, and breakfast had a decent range of tasty options. As on our other stays with the Pop! Hotel chain, the staff were friendly and the hotel was clean. I also like the simple, distinctive design that shows local culture. There were a couple of misses this time, though: our room had no complimentary bottled water even though I booked the Signature package, which included it, and the bathroom soap was empty. I told reception, but it still hadn't been refilled by checkout the next day. Please keep an eye on these small details.
