Movenpick Surabaya City

The breakfast buffet was delicious, with plenty of choices. I especially liked the gluten-free and sugar-free pastries. My room was spacious and comfortable, and parking was good. All the staff were helpful, especially the friendly FO team, who made check-in and check-out quick and easy. It's not too far from Waru Toll Road, so getting there was easy. I had a very nice stay. Thank you.

The meeting rooms are well set up, with good lighting, a large high-resolution videotron, and very fast Wi-Fi. The hotel is in a strategic location, and the service was satisfying from start to finish, with friendly, helpful security and quick, courteous receptionists. My room had a luxurious design and upscale facilities: a plush mattress, large wardrobe with drawers, mini-fridge, and a cozy window seat overlooking Surabaya city. There was also a good-sized desk with a comfortable swivel chair. The bathroom was clean, luxurious, and stocked with soap and towels. A water heater, sachets of coffee and tea were provided too. Highly recommend this five-star hotel.

The only small suggestion I have is for Mövenpick to keep more baby cribs available. There was just one for the whole hotel, and more would help families with young children. We stayed in Room 1121, and the team made things much easier for us as parents traveling with an infant. Tiara from Reservations was kind, quick to respond, and proactive. She suggested pushing the two super single beds together for our baby, which helped a lot. Housekeeping were efficient and helpful too, and one staff member suggested combining the sofa to make a baby crib. We really enjoyed the stay. Thanks again to Tiara and the team! 🙏

The best part of the stay was seeing the kids happy on New Year's, making noise and bringing back balloons. Thanks for the countdown toys. The countdown was reserved for Gala Dinner participants, though we still tried to join from the back row because we were there for Old and New. I won't forget what happened during Chocolate Hour. After eating the cookies, my throat got badly itchy and I had trouble breathing. I asked the senior person at the bar for plain water, and she told me I had to pay for it and asked for my room number. What kind of hospitality is that? We often stay at Movenpick Bali, so we expected the same Movenpick standard of service and facilities in Surabaya for our Old and New. Check-in put me in a terrible mood. There was no dedicated receptionist for ALL elite members, our rooms weren't ready on time and we waited over half an hour, and there was a dispute over automated payment through the ALL app. The receptionist also gave misleading information about where another room was. The Executive Room was well designed, and they provided delicious chocolate and cookies, but there was no greeting card or Old and New perk waiting in the room.
