RedDoorz at Nginden Surabaya

I booked room 7 because it was near the Hajj dormitory, where I had an exam in Surabaya. The room was disappointing. The table was a wobbly wall-mounted one, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress also didn't have the usual Redoorz collaboration look, with its mostly red design. The bathroom door wouldn't shut properly and had no lock. There were no hangers, and the heat exhaust made noise without any sign of improvement. The TV wouldn't turn on. The AC also barely cooled the room: setting it to 16°C felt more like 26°F.

The room felt hot and stuffy because the AC wasn't cooling at all. There wasn't a TV remote, and the bathroom glass looked as if it had never been cleaned. The bathroom itself wasn't very clean either. The towels smelled bad, and the bedcover seemed unwashed, with no laundry scent at all.

I came here because my boarding house was flooded. The parking area is spacious, the receptionist is friendly, and the AC is cold. The service is already great, but the room cleanliness and upkeep need attention. The sheets smelled so bad I couldn't sleep. The bathroom lights buzz when switched on, the TV and hot water don't work, and the table is tilted and unusable. Please improve the maintenance 🙏😃

Red Doors really needs to review this place. The app photos are nothing like what you find there, and it feels worse than rock bottom. The negative reviews are all true. It's an empty boarding house being run as a hotel. Don't stay unless you have no other choice.
