HARRIS Hotel & Conventions Solo

I was surprised by how tasty the breakfast was. This was my first time staying in Solo for a business trip, and the experience was great all around: nice location, good service, good meals, and a pleasant atmosphere. The room size suited me, there was enough light, and the amenities were complete. Check-in didn’t take long either. Thanks, Harris Solo, good job.

The location was the one real plus for me. The room was spacious, and I think the hotel has potential, but several things fell short. The shower fittings in the bathroom were old and corroded, there was mold along many tile edges, and the white towels had stains. I stayed four nights, and the TV never worked, even though we asked the front desk twice to send a mechanic. We had dinner at the first-floor cafe twice, and service was very slow. Even simple drinks, like beer or hot ginger, took about 15 minutes. The biggest problem was at the pool and gym: someone used our room number, and the attendant didn’t catch them. We would have been responsible for replacing the towels if they hadn’t been returned. Service outside the front office and housekeeping was horrible. I don’t think this meets the standard of a 4-star international hotel, though it may be okay for local customers.

The restaurant was nice, and my daughter really enjoyed the Italian breakfast dishes. The gym and pool on level 3 were clean, modern, and had a view of Merapi-Merbabu, which could be lovely at sunset. I stayed overnight, and for an affordable 4-star hotel it was good enough. The room was tidy, and the bathroom was okay, though my wife didn’t like the toilet since it didn’t have a hose spray.

The room was comfortable and clean, with a lovely city view that looked especially beautiful at night. The location also made getting around Solo easy, with many city spots nearby. From arrival, everything felt simple and organized. The front office handled check-in smoothly, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. They also looked after my luggage kindly and professionally when I left it at the hotel. I had a good stay at HARRIS Hotel Solo and would be glad to return on my next visit.
