The Garden Suites Solo

A good budget option. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a great bathroom, AC, and very nice water quality. It’s not too far from the city center, and there are a few food stalls within walking distance, though not many. It’s a shame the garden greenery is all artificial flowers rather than real plants, especially with “garden suites” in the name.

The location is a favorite of mine, and the service is great for the money. The hotel is generally good and clean, though the rooms could do with a deeper clean if you look closely. Breakfast won’t impress, but it did fill me up.

I liked the staff and plenty of things about the hotel during my several-day stay, but the WiFi in my room hardly ever worked. The water pressure was also sometimes barely enough for a shower. They told me the WiFi would work, but didn’t seem concerned when it didn’t. I know things can go wrong, and usually that wouldn’t bother me much. What I thought was wrong was keeping a large part of my deposit, almost half the room cost, because they said I checked in at 1 pm instead of 2. I would have gladly waited if I’d known there’d be a penalty, but they told me it was too late and kept the money.

The hotel is right in the city center, and I’d book it again if I return to town. I chose the most expensive room, which was enjoyable: it was huge, with a large toilet, a king-size bed, a minibar, and two air conditioners. There’s a lift, so getting to my third-floor room didn’t take extra effort. The ground-floor restaurant’s food was okay. Overall, I’d recommend the hotel. Thank you.
