ILLIRA Lite Praya Lombok

For a one-night stopover, the room was basic but acceptable. There was no fridge, and drinking water came in a jug rather than bottles. We’d asked for a higher floor but got the 2nd floor, and with the elevator out of order we had to take the stairs. Room 216 was at the far end of the corridor and smelled a little musty when we arrived. One pillowcase was torn, though staff quickly replaced it when we asked. At check-in they explained the IDR 50,000 key deposit, which is refunded at checkout if you return the key. We stayed at Illira Lite Praya Lombok before continuing our trip, and I wouldn’t choose it for a longer visit.

The airport location is handy, and there’s a free shuttle at 10 and 12.00. Beyond that, I’m sorry, but it was a very poor stay, even if it is low season. Spiders and webs were all over the room, restaurant, stairs, behind the TV and around the switches. The room was noisy and the bathroom dirty, and the elevator was out of service. I only saw three staff members around the resort, and their English was very limited. I could go on, but there’s no need.

The lobby was the only decent part of the hotel, and the photos give a misleading impression. The staff were kind, but inside the place felt abandoned, with dirty corridors, stairs and walls. We tried two rooms and both had stains on the walls and furniture; I don’t think they’d been cleaned. The bathroom mirror was in an indecent state. A low price doesn’t excuse this level of deterioration. I wouldn’t recommend it.

It’s about 10 minutes from the airport, and the staff are really friendly. There’s a pool on the property, though some things need attention: the elevator wasn’t working well and the bathroom had a leak. Since the price is cheap, I still think it’s worth it.
