Compact and Homey Studio at Great Western Resort Apartment

The room was spacious, and the view from the 29th floor was nice. The old apartment building and interiors were okay for the cheap price, though the floor was a bit dusty and the lighting dim. The AC and WiFi didn’t really work. The access cards kept erroring, and both the door card and electricity had problems. We had to call a technician twice to fix the cards and door handle. Please improve cleanliness, the card system and WiFi connection.

There’s plenty of space and a pool, but the AC doesn’t get cold enough and there’s no TV in the main room. It’s very quiet, even with another hotel and apartments there, and the mall is closed, so there’s no food or activities around. Not good for a familycation. I’d asked for a room near the pool, but that request wasn’t fulfilled. So sad.

I’ve been in the hotel business for 30 years, and this was the worst stay I’ve ever had. To be clear, this isn’t really a hotel, it’s a cluster of privately owned apartments being rented out as one. When we checked in, my wife and I found lots of women’s hair in the room and cigarette leftovers on the balcony facing the Toll Road. We were two hours late checking out, and they charged us 150k IDR. The funny thing is a room through Agoda was only 175k IDR, so instead of paying the late checkout fee I extended our stay. After extending, we went out for food and asked for the room to be cleaned. They made the bed and cleaned the bathroom, but didn’t even clean the floor or table. I tried to reach the Hotel Manager, Mr. OOK, but couldn’t get hold of him during my two days there. It seemed like he was busy in meetings, although the Hotel Elvour Occupancy may have been only 3%. Worst hotel experience ever.

We booked the two-bedroom, one-bathroom room with a special discount through Agoda, and it was good. I loved the open-air pool, but the water was too cool for swimming, and getting to it wasn’t easy.
