The walls and shelves were covered in dust, and there was a thick black layer on the floor. The buildings are old and nothing seems to have been upgraded. The lobby should not be a smoking area. This was the worst hotel experience I've had. I wouldn't recommend it, and staff need to clean the rooms properly.

After I paid on arrival, reception told me to wait. I said okay, but when I asked again 20 minutes later, she said it would be another 40 minutes. Then I unlocked my room and found someone else's luggage inside. No one offered to help with my bags, and I was told there was no lift even though the room was on the third floor. They need to improve their hospitality and management. The building itself was very dirty, including the walls and floors. I know cleaning standards can differ in Indonesia, but this was too much.

The room had a big bed, two pillows, a wardrobe, a work desk, a dressing table and a mirror. There were also guest chairs and a work chair, plus two drinking water and heating devices, four glasses, and hot water in the shower. The air conditioning was cold, and it felt safe to rest there. The room was very big, though the walls were dirty and the view wasn't good. Breakfast wasn't bad.

The staff were friendly, and the location is good if you have things to do in town. The restaurant service was poor, though, and the rooms are old, with wallpaper peeling away. The bathrooms haven't been maintained in years, and rainwater comes through the windows. Being called the best hotel in town doesn't set a high bar.

The room was spacious and the place felt safe, but it was quite “singup.” They have billiards and a welcome drink in the lobby.
