Hotel Tugu Lombok

The most memorable part of our four nights at Hotel Tugu Lombok was how much care the staff showed us. I only remember Ruslan and Faisol by name, but everyone on the waiting staff and behind the scenes was wonderful. They greeted us with smiles and used our names, which made the level of respect and attention feel personal. I’ve never connected with hotel staff this much. They also did turndown service every day without us asking, dimming the lights and spraying mosquito repellent. The property itself is gorgeous, with a beautiful beach, traditional Indonesian architecture, attractive pools, and art throughout. Our rooms, whether the alon-alon bungalow or the Bhagawad Gita bungalow, were spacious and well designed. It was truly a magical holiday.

The people at Hotel Tugu Lombok made us feel at home, and we’re deeply grateful. After an exhausting journey from the US, with lost luggage and no sleep, the staff greeted us with real warmth. The grounds, views, serene beaches, and lush surroundings are stunning, but it’s the people who make the place special. Everyone treated us like family. The restaurant team was kind and attentive, the food was amazing, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and full of thoughtful touches. I especially want to thank Ruslan. As soon as I mentioned our missing bags, he took it on himself to help. He coordinated with the airline from EWR in the US to LOP, arranged for a driver to collect the luggage from the airport, then brought it to our room himself, saving us a lot of time and stress. He also helped arrange several excursions and made sure everything went smoothly. It’s an experience of genuine care and hospitality, and we’ll absolutely return.

We had a great time during our 5 nights at Tugu. The place is beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We also had a blast at the NYE party with the guests and staff. I can’t wait to go back someday.

Tugu’s warm, welcoming staff made our anniversary stay memorable with thoughtful touches over several days. The service and amenities feel luxurious, and we enjoyed a couple of the special dining options, including the beach BBQ and Babah Peranakan dinner. Both were excellent. I found the Babah Peranakan meal especially interesting as a way to experience shared Chinese culinary heritage between Indonesia and the Philippines. If you enjoy history, art, and a place with some personality, Hotel Tugu Lombok is a really cool spot. We’re big fans of McMenamins back home in the Pacific Northwest, and Tugu had a similar laidback, cool feel. Get a massage at the spa, then spend the rest of the day relaxing by the beach. The water is calm and perfect for swimming.
