Rinjani Beach Eco Resort

I’m deeply disappointed with what I found at Rinjani Beach Eco Resort. I paid €100 hoping to relax, but the locals’ drums kept me from sleeping at night. The swimming pool was also very dirty and smelled bad. Please be aware that I think there’s a high risk of illness or injury here, especially for families with children.

The gardens and surrounding nature are beautiful, and the staff were consistently kind and did their best to help. We also had a great snorkeling boat trip that was very well organized. Those were the highlights of a mixed stay. Our room was booked for five, but because there wasn’t an option for that number, an extra bed had to be added. The boss’s mistake hadn’t been passed on to the staff, who handled it kindly, though it was still inconvenient. At dinner we waited over an hour and a half for our food, and the included breakfast was very small with little choice. There were ants in the bed, and the pool was closed for several days and wasn’t clean. The massage didn’t feel relaxing or discreet, and the masseuse was on her phone during the treatment. Also, you can’t pay by card, so bring enough cash. The location and outdoor areas are lovely, and with better organization and service this place could be special.

Most mornings, we had the beach to ourselves, and the quiet north of Lombok was just what we wanted for a relaxing family stay. We were in the Blue Bungalow right on the beach with our child, and had an amazing time at Rinjani Beach Eco Resort. The place is clean and well cared for, the food is varied and delicious, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Mornings came with birds, geckos, the ocean, and sometimes the distant call of the muezzin. There isn’t much to do at the resort, but for a few peaceful days, it’s hard to find a better spot on Lombok.

Snorkeling right off the shore and watching the sunset from the beach were two of my favorite parts. After dark, the starry sky made everything feel special, and the clean, inviting pool was lovely for a dip. The staff were friendly and attentive from the moment I arrived. I also enjoyed the food, with plenty of tasty choices, and the on-site laundry was convenient. For the amenities and service, the price felt very reasonable. A delightful place for a relaxing beach stay.
