I got a good night’s sleep here, with a clean, quiet room and a decent breakfast. The staff were kind, too. It’s a humble hotel in Tarakan, close to a mosque and not far from the city centre. I thought I heard live music in the evening, but I was so tired and fell asleep, so maybe I dreamed it.

The room was fairly comfortable, but I didn’t have a great stay at Lembasung Hotel. The air conditioner was positioned so its airflow went straight onto the bed. There’s no elevator, only stairs, which takes extra effort if your room is on the 3rd floor. Smoking seemed to be allowed in perhaps all the rooms. It’s a small hotel near a local hospital in Tarakan City.

Room 299 and its bathroom were huge, and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel was clean, with no garbage or dust, and the staff were friendly and polite. Useful things were provided, including a safe box, extension wire, iron, bathroom water heater, and drinking water dispenser. It’s in a residential area rather than in town, so there wasn’t noisy vehicle traffic. There’s a BRI ATM right in front, Darussa'adah mosque opposite, and General Hospital RSUD Tarakan is only 500m away. I had an awesome 4 days and 3 nights here. I’d highly recommend it to anyone planning to stay in Tarakan. It’s worth the price.

The hotel is a bit away from the city crowds, but the quality is very good. My only complaint is that the AC is placed right above our heads, really right over us. Aside from that, it’s nice.

It’s quiet and near a mosque, though arranging car transport can sometimes be difficult. The AC in my room also needs attention.
