Puri Gangga Resort Ubud

We had a long, relaxing stay in a Pool Villa overlooking the gardens and main pool. The gardens were gorgeous, and the room had all the features you’d expect at a Balinese resort. Our thanks to the housekeeping team for going above and beyond each day, and to the lovely spa ladies for making us feel like special guests. The restaurant and office teams were also wonderful and made sure we had what we needed. Shout out to Dona, the trainees and restaurant staff, and Dika for the great cooking experience. Linda, Ferry, and the others at the office whose names I can’t remember, thank you too. Nuarja made our day tour personal and memorable. Singing Coldplay and Kylie Minogue in the car with you will stay with us. Keep singing and smiling, Nuarja, you’re the best. My husband and I loved our visit.

The peaceful, green setting was our favorite part. It’s a bit away from Ubud town center, but that’s what gives the resort its sense of escape, and the pool is wonderful for relaxing among the scenery. There’s a free shuttle into Ubud, complimentary yoga, and evening tea with cake, which was a nice extra. The staff were attentive, kind, and always smiling from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was a treat, with a good selection, beautifully presented dishes, fresh juices, and a delicious fruit platter. We also had a very relaxing, professionally delivered spa treatment. We had a memorable stay at Puri Gangga Resort in Ubud, Bali, and would happily return for the warm hospitality and tranquil surroundings.

The breakfast was so carefully made and tasty that I’d gladly pay for it separately. It’s à la carte with drinks rather than a buffet. The location is roughly 30 minutes from the city center, which is also what makes those jungle views possible, and Batur tour locations are within a 30-minute drive. The room, large bathtub, pool, and view were especially satisfying. The bathtub is big enough for the whole family, and the pool is so close that it almost feels like a pool-access room. From the room, you look out toward an infinity pool framed by jungle. The staff were all very kind. For the price, it’s impressive to get facilities of this level in such a nature-friendly Balinese setting. Frequent shuttles to the city, complimentary afternoon tea, and reasonably priced dinner add even more value. Compared with places I’ve stayed before, including Chapung Sebali, Ayung Resort, Kamandalu, and Komaneka at Bisma, this one felt more satisfying to me just for the room, bath, pool, and view.

We spent nine days here, and loved the quiet, tucked-away feel despite being near sights like the famous rice terraces and Tis Cafe. The staff were extremely nice, which was the cherry on top. Get a scooter if you can, there are lots of hidden gems around Puri Gangga to explore.
