A few steps away is Pantai Dolphin Tejakula beach. You can swim safely when there aren't big waves, or take a look at the small nearby temple. For food, there are some lovely hidden spots: Tropikal Bar, owned by the same people, for an evening by the pool; Warung Seni for a cozy feel; and Warung Bali Muda for more authentic Balinese food. Les waterfall is an easy short hike, about a 10-15 minute drive away. I spent a few nights at Pranajaya Villa on a road trip, and it was just right for slowing down and resting. There are four separate rooms with private bathrooms, plus a shared kitchen and pool, all set among greenery. It's at the end of a small village road winding through gardens and jungle, so it feels peaceful and quiet. On rainy days, the birds and water make a lovely backdrop. You can make tea or coffee, or cook in the kitchen to warm up. Simple and calm, a good place to disconnect and enjoy a slower rhythm.

Getting here by Google Maps can be tricky. Coming from the west, turn left just after the bridge and continue to the dolphin statue, then turn right. Don't take the tiny alley Google Maps shows. Make a U-turn and look for the bridge instead. The villa itself is cute, with a charming garden and lovely staff and owner, only 300 meters from the beach. Jay, the owner, is about to open another nearby place that sounds amazing. I'd stay here again.

The place itself is truly beautiful, especially the pool. The guys did their best to bring me clean towels, and when I asked about fishing they quickly connected me with a local gentleman. It was nice overall, though it would've been perfect if it had been clean. The rooms were really dirty, with dust and cobwebs. I had to disinfect the kitchen before using it. If the rooms were cleaned and arranged even just a little, this would be a 10-star paradise.
