Berawa Beach Garden Hostel

My friend stayed here while she was in Canggu, and I visited her a couple of times. For a hostel, it was surprisingly quiet and relaxed, which was great since it's close to the beach and good amenities. The pool was lovely to relax by, and the communal kitchen had good facilities for cooking and storing food in the fridge. I'd recommend staying here if you're heading to Canggu.

The people we met here made the trip. We had such a great time with them and would happily return. The staff were lovely and welcoming, the beds were comfortable and bug-free, and there’s a barbecue area too. The pool is nice and spacious, and the beach is only about a two-minute walk away.

I slept really well here, and the staff were helpful. It’s a fun place to meet cool people, with a big garden where we could barbecue together and a nice pool. The massage was the best I found in Canggu, and only cost 50k. A great pick for backpackers. I loved it!

Don’t be fooled by the photos. I left at 3 a.m. on my first night after getting bitten all over by bedbugs, and I’m now covered in bites and rashes. The whole place was filthy: grime in the shower room, dirty rooms full of bugs, and cooking and dining areas that were also messy and covered in people’s belongings. Some beds are right beside those facilities. You’re told to leave your bags in the corridor to keep bugs out of the room, and there’s nowhere secure to store your things. After two months of travelling, this was the worst place I’ve stayed.
