Puri Canggu Rooms 2

The pool was only five steps from my first-floor room, so I could take a refreshing dip in the morning and evening. The room was spotless, with powerful air conditioning, working plumbing, and an incredibly comfortable queen-sized bed. I appreciated having end tables and reading lights on both sides, plus a wall-mounted TV and desk. The wifi was fast and reliable too. Puri Canggu Villas and Rooms is tucked into a quiet spot despite being near a busy area, and there's ample parking for cars and scooters. The courtyard has classic Balinese charm, with a pool at its center surrounded by greenery and the rooms. Check-in was easy, and the staff greeted me with smiles and made the process smooth. They were attentive, pleasant, and happy to help throughout. It's a tranquil stay in the heart of Canggu, Bali, and I found it excellent value for money. I'd happily stay again and recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful, comfortable place in a great location.

We're on night 20 of our 21-night booking as I write this. The staff have handled the few minor issues as quickly as possible and have always been available to communicate via WhatsApp. They ask every day if we'd like the room cleaned, and do a great job with the dishes, bed, restocks, and general cleaning. As a dog lover, I especially appreciate how kind they are to the dogs near the compound. The dogs seem to guard the place at night and are very friendly with guests. That helped make it feel like a home away from home. Thanks to Puri Villas and the staff for an amazing stay. I hope to return someday.

It's a pleasant place to rest and relax, though there's not much else to do. The location is a little hidden, but shops and restaurants are easy to reach on foot. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Breakfast was OK and reasonably priced. The place is generally clean, but there's no phone or fridge in the rooms. There's no ice, and the two water bottles supplied on day one need to be refilled at the pantry. Self-service coffee, tea, and water are available in the shared pantry area. The villa pool wasn't very clean.

The villa is spacious, safe, and quiet, with barely noticeable street noise. I liked that it had a water filter machine, so there was no need for plastic bottles. But it has aged poorly, and things were either old or dirty. My one room villa had AC but no fan, and the electricity could trip in the middle of the day. I stayed for 2 nights. At checkout, I unknowingly left an item behind. When I tried to retrieve it later that day, one of the staff had taken it back. I found it dishonest for an employee to take home a guest's belongings after checkout. That's why I gave a lower rating. I hope the staff member in question faces disciplinary measures. I won't return.
