At the moment, May 2024, construction a few meters away is the main drawback, and the noise carries on until 10pm. Otherwise, it’s very affordable and good value for a couple or someone on their own. The wifi runs at 50-100Mbps, so it works well for remote work. I did miss shampoo, body gel, and pool towels. For that, I’d rate the service a 4.

The location next to the beach is a big plus, and the rooms are spacious, with an unusual outdoor kitchen. One young staff member was especially kind and friendly, and made us feel welcome. But management was unwilling to help with even simple requests, which really brought down the stay. The kitchen didn’t have enough basic equipment. The old frying pan needed a thorough clean before I could use it, and the gas stove wasn’t working properly. I asked for more kitchenware and a small pot, but management refused. The room was also too dim, and they wouldn’t provide extra lights when I asked. Shampoo was missing as well. The friendly staff helped make up for some of this, but the management’s lack of response to our needs and the missing essentials meant the stay fell short. With better attention to requests and basic amenities, Senyum Villa could be a more satisfying place to stay.

There were loads of mosquitoes, and each room really needs a fan. The manager seemed lazy, didn’t show interest in improving the place, and didn’t act on feedback.

The garden is large, the pool is nice, and the location is peaceful. Having our own kitchen was handy, and the staff were attentive and friendly. They cleaned the room daily. The bathroom was a little moldy and smelled bad, but it was okay.
