I only booked one night, but the place felt so much like home that I stayed 10 nights, then returned for another 4. Krisna, the welcoming and friendly guy who runs it, even took us to some great food pasars to try nasi goreng, both kinds of martabak (omlette type and pancake type), avocado juice, roti bakar, and nasi campur/makasan padang. He also helped us arrange a beach bonfire at a beach where it’s allowed. It’s the cheapest place around Canggu and great value, with local food shops nearby. The common areas are nice for hanging out and meeting other travelers. There’s a kitchen, fridge for leftovers, and free water, coffee, and tea all day and night. A TV plays music in the daytime, then you can watch movies or YouTube videos later. Scooter rental is 50K Rupiah per day with a helmet, and surfboards at the nearby Beach cost 50k Rupiah for two hours. The waves suit beginners and intermediate surfers. You can do laundry yourself or use one of the quick, cheap places nearby. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are dark, which is great for sleeping. There’s also a cute outdoor shower.
