Tirtha Canggu Suites

The pool was nice, but the outside shower by it didn't work. The location is good, and the rooms are okay in size, though cleanliness was only a 2/5 for me. The rooms are average, with a lot of things needing an update.

We stayed six nights and found it easy to get around on foot, even without bikes. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, a mini mart right across the road, and the beach is about a 20-25 minute walk. The rooms are spacious and the price worked really well for us as backpackers. The pool was clean most of the time, and staff fixed our shower issue quickly. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, though there seemed to be so many staff around that sitting by the pool could feel uncomfortable when the hotel was quiet. I wouldn't choose the restaurant or breakfast again: one morning it took 45 minutes to make toast, and it was cold by the time I ate it. The kitchen was slow even with only 2 people ordering. For the price, though, it was a great fit and I'd recommend the hotel.

When we arrived, the rooms were filthy. The sheets had stains, there was mould, and another room had more unidentifiable marks on the sheets plus what looked like piss still stained on the toilet seat. We refused to stay for the 5 nights. It's now been over a month since we tried to get our money back, and they keep blocking our emails instead of cooperating. We tried to stay here last month, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it unless sleeping in other people's old liquids sounds fine to you.

I don't usually leave reviews, but this stay just wasn't good. I booked two nights before my flight home, and both rooms had walls covered in dead mosquito marks. The first room was full of mosquitoes, and after the shower flooded almost out of the bathroom, I asked to move. In the second room the aircon barely worked and the wifi didn't work at all. The staff are nice, which makes it hard to leave a bad review, but I'd stay somewhere else next time. It may be on the cheaper side, but I've had much better private rooms in hostels for this price.
