The garden and pool are gorgeous, and the villas feel wonderfully different from the modern look spreading around this part of Bali. They’re traditional builds, furnished with lots of intricate details, and the bed was really comfortable. I wasn’t sure about booking since there were fewer reviews than for many other places, maybe it’s newer or guests want to keep it a hidden gem, but I don’t regret it at all. Nature comes with the setting, so expect insects, geckos, and lizards. They’re harmless and manageable. Everyone working there was so nice. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The location makes it easy to explore Canggu, with cafes nearby and a motorbike rental shop right across the road. Our room faced the pool, where we only saw one other couple during our stay, and the compound was quiet and peaceful. It has a lovely Balinese style that feels quite different from the modern hotels, and the people were friendly and nice. Sadly, one of their dogs passed away while we were there. If you spot the tabby cat, please feed her, she’s very cute and affectionate. We’ll definitely come back to Wayang Retreat!

The location was great, and the rooms were lovely and spacious. Everyone on staff was so nice and made us feel welcome. Junior was especially informative when we checked in. We loved our stay at Wayang Retreat.

The retreat has a really relaxing feel, and we enjoyed our days at Wayang Reyreat. The staff and manager were very nice and helpful, and they can arrange pickups and scooter rentals. Our villa was clean and nice, though honestly the towels could have been a bit cleaner. A very nice place to stay.

Still thinking about the pool and common area. The room was gorgeous, the view stunning, and the people were wonderful. Everything about the stay felt perfect.
