The only real drawback was the small car parking area. The room was cosy, with hot water and free WiFi. The sunrise viewing spot is about 15 km away, which isn't too far. You can arrange a jeep at the front desk. Recommended if you're heading to Bromo via Pasuruan.

This may be a last resort if you need somewhere to sleep, since Tosari doesn't have many choices for a last-minute booking. The room was humid and smelly, and they tried to charge us more for food than the price list showed. The Bromo tour packages were pricey too: 750.000 for one 5 person Jeep, plus around 220.000 per person for the park entrance fee. For high season, try booking well ahead, perhaps in cemoro lawang, where there are more options.

There was no phone signal, though Wi-Fi was available, and breakfast wasn't included. The bathroom blower didn't work properly, and the washbasin leaked, with a big bucket placed underneath. Hot water sometimes failed in the morning. The bed cover was thin and the blanket stained. There was no soap, shampoo, TV remote, or sandals.
