I was glad my stay was only one night. I wouldn’t come back unless they improve the cleanliness and give housekeeping more training. The hotel wasn’t worth the price for this standard of cleanliness. When I arrived, the room was visibly dirty. There was dirt on the sofa and bed, and it looked as if they’d just put the room back in order without changing the sheets. The sheets were dirty all over, and the pillowcase had a visible mold stain. The bedside table hadn’t been wiped, and a used toothpick was sitting in the middle of the living room floor, in plain sight. One of the chair legs was broken, so it wobbled. It seemed dangerous, especially if an elderly person sat on it and fell. The toilet area was dirty too, with hair on the basin and floor and a dead insect under the hairdryer. Every towel we unfolded had visible stains, and one face towel even had animal poop stuck to it. We asked for a few replacements, but apparently all the towels were stained. The soundproofing was very poor. We could clearly hear people talking in the hallway from inside our room. By 6 a.m., people were already talking loudly and children were running along the corridor, so we couldn’t rest properly. On checkout day, the hallway leading to the stairs was filthy, with hair and dirt everywhere.

Even with low occupancy in the low season, the level of service should stay up. The breakfast wasn’t the best, but it had a homey feel. Perfect, fantastic. I’ll definitely return.

The room was the best part of our stay: it was very spacious and had a large bed. We did find a dead insect on the curtain, but staff cleaned it quickly. The bathroom could have been cleaner for a new hotel, and I spotted a small cockroach. Omala Tretes is right beside Hotel Sinar and close to Tretes’ culinary center, so it was easy to find food. We got a warm welcome from a bellboy and the Hospitality Manager while we were still in the parking area, which made a good first impression. Check-in took around 30 minutes because our room wasn’t ready. The lobby felt a little empty, with a small playground on the left and a restaurant on the right, but neither seemed very active. The medium-sized pool was quite cold and a bit of a walk from the lobby. I was satisfied with the stay, mainly because of the room, and hope things improve by our next visit.

This was my second stay at Omala Tretes, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. The resort feels like a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, with fresh mountain air and lovely scenery. It made for a relaxing family vacation. Our room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with a cozy, luxurious feel. The bed was very comfortable, and the balcony looked out over lush greenery. The well-kept pool was a highlight and worked for both children and adults. There was also lots of open space for kids to play, and the setting felt safe and welcoming. The resort had fun activities too, making it easy to spend quality time together. The restaurant offered a good range of Indonesian and international food. Breakfast stood out, with fresh, flavorful choices for different tastes. Staff were accommodating and made sure our kids could have meals suited to their preferences. The staff were very friendly and ready to help. They made check-in and checkout smooth, and even helped us plan local sightseeing trips. Great hospitality, food, and a serene atmosphere made this another lovely stay for our family.

We were basically paying for the extra-large room and the wide semi-natural views. I agree with the earlier reviewers: the hotel lacked hospitality, so don’t expect a warm welcome. It didn’t seem fully operational, with several facilities still under construction and what looked like too few staff. Our room still had belongings from previous guests, so the cleaning hadn’t been done properly. The place felt gloomy and cold, the hall was simply empty, and the fake waterfall had to be turned on by request, which was very disappointing. The effort felt half-hearted, and I’m speechless. It’s a shame, because I thought it could be a great option in the Tretes area. I wouldn’t choose it for a relaxing hotel stay or for children to enjoy the activities. It didn’t feel worth the price, and I’d stick with a more established hotel at the same level and price. If you have time, visit and look around before booking.
