Maylie Bali Villa Bungalows

Maylie Bali Villa Bungalow was a lovely place to unwind. It feels peaceful and close to nature, but the city center is still only a short trip away. The staff were always smiling, friendly, and ready to help, and we really enjoyed the breakfast. It was delicious and even suited Turkish tastes surprisingly well. A great choice if you want a comfortable stay with both greenery and easy city access.

We spent four days at Maylie Bali Villa while visiting Canggu. The bungalow-style villas look lovely, but our experience inside the property was very different. The room wasn't clean, and under the bed there was dirt and bugs everywhere. It looked like basic hygiene had been neglected. We checked the mattress and pillows shortly after checking in. They had yellow stains, and one pillow had black bugs on it. When we told the manager, she said bugs were understandable in Bali and that yellow pillows were normal and probably wouldn't be replaced. After a long discussion we did get clean bedding, which was the one helpful outcome. On the evening of December 22, 2024, we got food poisoning. I don't usually want to blame a particular place for something like that, but earlier that day, before the doctor came to our house, I asked the security guard for a trash bag and saw a large rat walking through the hotel's open kitchen. The guard acknowledged it and said he'd deal with it later. Seeing that left me completely convinced the food poisoning was connected to meals we ate at the property on December 22 or the day before. Anyone unsure can ask the guard who was on duty; he knew about the rat and said he'd handle it later. After check-in, it was clear the bedding needed attention, and the manager brushed off our concerns. In her reply, she apparently said the stains came from insects to another employee. We also asked to extend our stay by an hour or two, and she said that wasn't possible, so her response doesn't make sense. It's upsetting to leave such a negative review, but these are my honest account of what happened. The property may dispute it, but I'd urge future guests to think twice before booking.

We found a quiet little retreat away from Canggu's busy streets, and the bungalow was lovely, including its sheltered, open-air bathroom at the back by the hill. The lane leading down may look a bit uncertain, but passing the temples and houses brings you to the lobby and pool, and it was worth it for two peaceful days. The staff were warm and welcoming, breakfast had a good range, and they helped arrange our morning ride to the airport. We'd gladly return and recommend it.

I booked a villa for six people at Maylie Bali villa & bungalow and really liked the place. The resort staff were so kind and service minded. I appreciated their care a lot, and would book here again if I return to Bali. ♥️
