Abipraya Ubud

We paid $100 NZD for two nights, and had a comfortable, spacious room with a big double bed, mosquito net, clean roomy bathroom, and lovely views. The pool was excellent, with even better scenery, and breakfast was included and really good. For the price and location, it felt like fantastic value. Nothing negative to report.

I’ve been staying here whenever I visit Ubud for more than six years, and it still feels like coming home. I’ve tried both standard rooms and suites, and the experience has been great each time. The beds are so comfortable, and the air conditioning works well, which matters in Bali’s heat. The people are what keep me coming back. Everyone is welcoming, smiling, and ready to help. Their care for guests is a big part of what makes Bali special, and the service here feels beyond five-star. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

The room was spacious and clean, and the pool was well kept, with a lovely view across the rice fields. The grounds are beautiful, like a little paradise just off the street. It’s also very convenient for the main roads, restaurants, and key places. The people working there are so kind and genuinely try to help. We’ll definitely come back.

The greenery and plants outside look nice, but this was hands down the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. Our deluxe room didn’t have even a basic tissue box. Reception told me tissues were only provided in a suite, which seemed ridiculous for a hotel calling itself four-star. The main shower head was filthy, the handheld one had almost no pressure, and after I asked them to clean the main head, nothing had been done when we returned. The bathroom was huge but dated, not clean, and smelled. The bedroom was also very large, but there was nowhere to set down and sort our bags. The wardrobe felt old fashioned, more like something from a two-star hotel. We could hear people walking on the floor above, and there was just one charging socket, nowhere near the bed, so charging several devices was a pain. We paid $153 for two nights. Friends paid about the same at another four-star hotel and had a very different experience, including the pool and breakfast. I’d much rather have a smaller room that’s clean and decent.
