On Monkey Forest Road, right in central Ubud, so you can walk home. The owners are very friendly, the bed is comfortable, and room service came almost every day. The pool was clean, and the sound insulation from the neighbours was very good. I even saw monkeys visiting the grounds sometimes. There's a bar next door, though, so music can be heard now and then.

In the middle of busy Ubud, this traditional-looking family place somehow feels peaceful. The food was good and fairly priced, and it feels worth every cent. Between all the western-style restaurants with fresh juice and burgers, this is the sort of place I picture when I think of Indonesia. I only ate at the restaurant, but I really liked it. I also got to see some wildlife outside, a huge snail with an amazing shell. If you spot it again, say hi!

The service was very good, but dinner was disappointing. My tea had five flies in it, and the salad was the smallest I've ever had: five lettuce leaves, tiny bits of chicken, and two pieces of pepper. For that price, I expected three times as much.

A nice pool, fast WiFi, and a great location, with a large room that works well for a short stay. The bed is old and creaks a lot. There's no ventilation in the bathroom, and it gets full of mosquitoes.
