Chapung Sebali Hotel

We managed five days here with two children under three and actually loved the boutique feel. The room was huge, thoughtfully designed, and had a stunning valley view. The staff were incredibly sweet and considerate, and made the stay feel special. Breakfast had plenty of à la carte choices, which we liked because it meant less food waste. We also enjoyed the infinity pool, afternoon tea each day, tasty lunches, and the spa treatments. Special thanks to Erna for a wonderful Balinese massage. A few things may matter if you're bringing young kids: it’s not a big resort like those in southern Bali, there are lots of steps down to the pool, and there’s no kids club or children’s cutlery and plates in the restaurant. Dinner felt a bit too fine dining for us with little ones. None of that was a major problem, but it may suit couples or families with older children better. We’d happily recommend Chapung Sebali as a beautiful, relaxing place.

The massages left both my husband and me feeling great, and the food was delicious, with dishes adjusted when needed. But what keeps me returning to Chapung Sebali is the staff: they’re friendly, helpful, and amazing. It’s tucked into lush green jungle and feels wonderfully peaceful. A great choice if you’re after proper relaxation.

Chapung Sebali sits in a quiet stretch of jungle, about a 15-minute drive from Ubud center, and the main pool looks out over the trees. We had a wonderful week there and ate dinner every night at Jungle Fish / Upper Deck Restaurant, surrounded by jungle. The ambience was lovely, the food was good, and the staff were friendly, courteous, and professional. They remembered our allergy requests and made tasty vegan meals for us, even when they weren’t on the menu. We also got a free shuttle to Ubud. Thanks for making us feel at home. I’d recommend the resort to anyone visiting Bali.

Even with my partner needing several hospital visits during our trip, the team at Chapung Sebali helped us find some moments to relax. A medical emergency meant we had to extend our stay, and moving into a villa was a wow moment. The spa was beautiful, and breakfast had a delicious range of choices. The scenery at this hidden gem is hard to put into words, but it’s the kind, attentive staff who make me keep coming back to Jungle Fish. Atra gave us lovely service and was so humble. Elita at reception was also very sweet and helpful at check-out, taking especially good care of us. Thank you for being flexible and supporting us when we needed it.
