Gekkos Ubud

The pool is literally one step from the bed, so you can jump right in. The room was an excellent size, very clean, and had all the facilities. There’s even a little jungle tree in the bathroom, which adds a bit of magic. The staff are very nice, and the hotel is close to the centre. Highly recommend it, I’ll definitely come back!

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious, with a 160 cm wide bed. The hotel has about seven rooms, most facing the small pool, which measures 3m x 15m and is 1.5-2m deep. It’s around 1.5 km from Ubud market and about 500-600 meters from Campuhan Ridge walk. Finding the place is a little tricky, but Google Maps guided me there perfectly. There’s just one car parking space outside, with more parking roughly 100-150 meters away. Good value, clean and spacious.

The villa has a good tropical feel, but I’d avoid booking the room with a kitchenette. Mine was pricier, the bedroom was small despite the big kitchen, and it wasn’t by the pool. It was close to the road, so noisier than the other rooms. There also wasn’t any staff on standby after check-in time. If you need help then, you’re on your own.

A small guest house that’s nice for sleeping. The room was clean and the pool was nice. The shower rooms are fully outdoors, though privacy was still fine. There’s no food service, but a few good restaurants are nearby. You might not see the owner or staff early in the morning. If you want to go further afield, transport companies are a five-minute walk away.
