At Grand Sehati Inn & Spa Ubud, the team made a special family occasion feel magical. They arranged a surprise wedding dinner for my parents with beautiful decorations and excellent service, then added another thoughtful touch by decorating their room for their wedding anniversary. Everyone was kind, responsive, smiling and attentive, and we felt looked after throughout. The rooms were spotless and the surroundings peaceful. Thank you for such a heartfelt, memorable stay ✨🌟

The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating, and they did eventually call maintenance to try to sort things out. Still, so many things in the room weren't working, and it could have been avoided with proper upkeep. The linens had stains or dirt on our first night, and instead of resting after a tiring trip, we waited for staff to change them. There were no TV channels. When I mentioned it, a staff member said the TV needed to be changed to a smart TV, but we were too tired to ask what he meant. The next days were dreadful. The toilet door jammed, the fridge made a strange noise, the TV still didn't work, and the sliding door key got stuck. We ended up sleeping with the doors unlocked. Some tiles were broken or loose. When I said almost everything in the room was out of order, a staff member smiled and told me, “We have two types of rooms, and this room is the lowest one.” What? The room wasn't even cheap, and every guest deserves a decent, working room. They did provide the basics: slippers, toothbrush, water heater, cup and saucer, coffee and tea, shampoo and body wash, and towels. A hair dryer that didn't really do its job and mosquito spray were available on request. The room needs an upgrade or at least regular maintenance.

I came for a 90-minute Balinese Classic massage, not for a room, so I can't comment on the rooms. I had one of the best massages of my life here two years ago, and came back recently to find it just as good. I've had a lot of massages, and this is among the best Balinese ones in Ubud. When they asked how the pressure felt, I requested more, and the masseuse adjusted brilliantly. The atmosphere is truly peaceful, and the masseurs are professional and committed.

The convenient location and large room couldn’t make up for the problems we ran into. The linens were dirty, the tiles were broken, and there were so many mosquitoes that we asked for coils. They didn’t have any, so we were given spray. We also had to ask for extra pillows, since there was only one per person. The hairdryer wasn’t there when we arrived; the one we got later was more of a blower and couldn’t dry our hair. The TV never worked either. Staff tried setting up a box, but its remote didn’t work and they had no replacement. On the second day, the locked bathroom door jammed shut, so early the next morning we had to use the spa’s toilet and shower before going out. That night, our key got stuck and we couldn’t lock the room. A technician was called but didn’t come, with the facility citing timing and noise, so we slept with the door unlocked. We felt unsafe. The staff were friendly and tried to help, but cleanliness and maintenance need major improvement. We left disappointed with the room facilities.

The room smelled of sewage as soon as I checked in, and the photos gave a very misleading impression of the hotel. I paid $320 for two nights. I almost checked out straight away, as other reviewers apparently did, but after spending that much I decided to put up with it. The front desk staff were nice, though housekeeping was intrusive: they tried to enter our room without knocking, which made us feel unsafe. The hotel is very old and poorly managed, with mold everywhere. Breathing that in doesn’t seem healthy, and the place also felt scary. It wasn’t worth the price, and I wouldn’t stay there even for free. Please go somewhere else.
