Kandarpa Ubud

We left after just one night of a planned four-night stay because the room had mold on the pillows, bedding, and walls by the headboard. We told the staff clearly why we were leaving, but the hotel still refused to refund the payment for the nights we didn't use. The way our complaint was handled was extremely disappointing. The bathroom was in very poor shape as well. Its fixtures were worn, the toilet needed replacing, and the shower head broke in my hand when I tried to use it. We understand Kandrapa Ubud Bali is in a humid jungle setting, but that doesn't excuse mold on the bed or poor upkeep. The Booking listing photos looked attractive, while the property's actual condition and cleanliness were far below an acceptable standard and raised a serious concern for our health and comfort. It has a nice setting and potential, but we can't recommend staying there.

The views north of Ubud, with rice fields and local cafes, were breathtaking, and there are religious buildings all around. It's a cool, pleasant area, and you can walk into different parts of town in 10-20 minutes. We rented one of the hotel's scooters. The hotel and pool were nice too. A few things could be better. The shower setup leaves water all over the bathroom floor. In the morning we could only get bad instant coffee, with grounds in the cup. We were told the barista machine was available after lunch, which seemed odd. The pool didn't appear to have set opening hours. At 7 am, 10-15 kids woke us up. That's more down to their parents, though a 9 am pool opening would have prevented it. We also asked the friendly, informative receptionist to book the hotel's own car and driver to Padang Bai for 6:45 the next morning. She said the driver would wait from 6:30, but he arrived at 7. Luckily, we still made the boat. Thanks for a lovely stay!

It's peaceful enough to unwind, but still close to the city. The staff made us feel at home from the minute we arrived and took such good care of us. We had a wonderful time at Kandarpa and can't wait to return.

Really liked the atmosphere and vibe here. The staff were welcoming and nice, and the price was very cheap. I'd say the bed and TV need an upgrade. Thanks.
