Kememai Hostel

I was exhausted from waiting, so I left. I’d rather lose the 65k than stay there that night, though I did ask for a refund. I arrived a bit early and knew check-in wasn’t until 2 pm, but they only let me in at 1:40 after I’d already waited over two hours. The public bathrooms were disgusting. In the room, all four beds I could choose from were supposedly clean, but they were full of dirt and hair, and none of the sheets or pillowcases had been changed. The room smelled horrible. I went to reception to ask for fresh sheets, but the staff member was gone for an hour.

The beds are comfy and the aircon works, and the staff are super nice. The shower curtains don’t cover the full width of the doorway, though, so the showers feel a bit too open. There’s only about one toilet for a lot of beds. There’s a shop downstairs, but it doesn’t stay open late and there aren’t really other shops around, so stock up on water.

We checked out as soon as we saw the beds. Both were covered in blood and hair, and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. I know it’s very cheap, but the beds still need cleaning. The staff were very friendly and refunded us everything, so one star for them.

The beds were really comfortable, and the price was cheap. It was clean, too, though the school next door gets loud with kids screaming in the morning. The pool listed in the hostel description is actually at its sister hostel, about a five-minute walk away. Besides that, I had no complaints.
