A total disappointment and a waste of my time and money. I booked a foot massage to relax my muscles after a long day of trekking and sightseeing. When I asked the masseuse to apply a bit more pressure, she wanted extra payment. In my 15-plus years living in Asia, I've never run into that before. I was shocked, since I expected more than light stroking from a foot massage, then she seemed to use her fingernails instead. We booked for 20:00 and paid a deposit that afternoon. We arrived at 19:55 but waited 15 minutes, so the massage only began around 20:12. The salon closes at 21:00. When the masseuse stopped right at 21:00, I politely pointed out that I'd paid for 60 minutes and there were still 10 minutes left. She carried on, but the strokes were even lighter. I guess that was on purpose. P.S. There's just one toilet for such a large massage center, and it doesn't flush.

The family who run this guesthouse are super friendly, and the garden and facilities are pretty and well looked after. The location is great, with everywhere in easy walking distance. Breakfast was average, though, and our room felt a bit worn: stained walls, weak water pressure, holes in the door and windows, and a loud air conditioner. With the low price, it's an acceptable place to stay in Ubud if you want an authentic, traditional setting.

I booked two nights with my partner, then liked it enough to extend to four. The accommodation is beautiful and great value, and the staff at Loka Sari were friendly and accommodating. We also had a couples massage and a manicure and pedicure at the spa. They were fantastic and very reasonably priced. A great place to stay in Ubud.

A waste of time and money. I came in to get something done for my feet, and they kept saying yes until the very end, when they told me, “No, we can’t.” They should've said so earlier. All they did was wash my feet and put on some creams.
