Mahanadewi Villa

The service was fantastic, and breakfast each morning had a delicious range of choices. I had coconut black rice with fruit on the side, and it was great. The villas are a small group about a 10-minute walk from downtown Ubud. My room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable, with a balcony view. It felt peaceful despite being near everything. It isn’t super luxurious, but it exceeded my expectations, and the price was excellent.

The host was one of the kindest people we met in Bali, and his wife was lovely too. They served a really nice breakfast with fresh fruit. There’s a temple nearby where they hold lots of ceremonies. We especially enjoyed listening to the laughing ceremony.

We stayed one night. Our room wasn’t ready when we got there, but reception let us leave our bags while we went for a walk. When we came back, the owner, who’d been so welcoming from the start, had put them in our room. It was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. There was also a working gas kitchen on the patio, which would’ve been great for a longer stay. The only downside was how many mosquitoes there were.

I’ve stayed twice, and both visits were pleasant. It’s a lovely, fairly well kept little place in Ubud, with beautiful rooms, privacy, and greenery all around when you wake up. The drains in the bathroom smelled a bit during my second stay, but the location and room are still lovely. The rice pudding at breakfast is awesome. Glad I found it.
