Nida Rooms Ubud Raya Mas at Taman Harum Cottages

We rented a scooter, so getting around from this well-situated hotel was easy. The rooms were nice, and the interior had a warm, friendly jungle feel. I spent five days there and was very happy with the stay. The restaurant was high quality, and the food was presented beautifully.

The outside of the hotel looks beautiful, but the rooms are old and the bathrooms are just awful. Water was missing from the taps about half the time, and repeated calls to reception didn’t get it fixed. The sink and bathtub drained badly, and there were several insects and mosquitoes in the rooms. We were also given a faulty hair dryer. The furniture, including the bed and chairs, felt terrible and fragile. Staff didn’t understand English at all, so we mostly relied on Google Translate. Please don’t spend your money here. There are plenty of much better hotels around Ubud.

The staff were polite, capable, and always willing to help, and housekeeping and room service were decent. Our four-night Deluxe Room had a king bed and garden view, with breakfast included. The room was spacious, the bed and bedding were great, and the air conditioning worked well. The bathroom was huge and clean, with a bathtub, separate shower, and a lovely nature view. There was also an unusual separate TV room, or maybe a walk-in closet, which seemed a little odd but may be part of the Balinese architecture. The socket and switch positions were different because of the architecture, though we had no trouble. The property has a lush garden, a clean pool, plenty of space to work, and good parking. Breakfast offered Indonesian or English set menus, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices, plus coffee, tea, juice, and fruit salad. I liked starting the day that way. It’s a quiet, pleasant place about 6-7 km from Ubud Palace, with cafes, a mart, and a money changer nearby, plus scenic walks. There are also decent places to eat around. We enjoyed our stay and recommend it.

I spent five nights here and had a really pleasant stay. The property is well looked after, the service was excellent, and every employee I met was friendly and helpful. The food was better than I expected, too. I had a good time and would definitely recommend the hotel.
