Odah Ayu Guest House

I planned on staying two nights, then liked it so much that I stayed nine. The guesthouse was spotless, and my room was spacious and very clean. The family were incredibly kind and welcoming, and I felt right at home. The location worked perfectly for me, close to everything but peaceful at night. Breakfast was delicious too, especially the banana pancakes and omelette. I'll definitely come back.

A friend recommended this place, and now I'll be recommending Odah Ayu to my friends too. The family who runs the guesthouse is incredibly kind, and the location is great, near the Main Street but far enough away to stay quiet. My room was great and super clean, and breakfast was amazing!

The rooms are basic and a little worn, but that adds to the atmosphere for me. The AC works fine, there are fans in every room, and there are terrace spaces too. It's really quiet, even though the busiest and most beautiful streets of Ubud are only a few minutes away. For faster wifi, choose the ground floor. Room 11 was my favourite 🥰 I've come back to live here several times, and it feels like home every time. The family is wonderful, especially the women, who are wise, clever, and interesting to talk with. Ask them about Balinese culture and customs if you get the chance. I really recommend staying here!

The location is great, and I might have extended my stay if the problems had been resolved. I was there for just one night. Cinta seemed lovely and charming when we met, but the next morning I tried to tell her the air con was buzzing. She brushed me off and disappeared. The pillow and mattress smelled really bad, like deep layers of sweat covered up with air freshener. I asked about changing rooms but couldn't get help, so I left. I moved to Purnama di Bisma, and it was so much better. The rooms were larger, the bedding smelled fresh, and the place was cleaner overall. The owner genuinely cared about guests. I also overlooked rice fields and was near lots of great restaurants. In the end, I'm glad I didn't get a new room at Odah Ayu.
