We booked Villa Kampung Ubud through Ramayana Travel for 11th-13th May, and the stay became one of the most disappointing and disturbing trips we’ve had. The villa was in extremely poor, unhygienic condition. We found bats and rats inside the room, which left us anxious, uncomfortable, and unsafe instead of able to relax. Rats raised serious concerns about cleanliness, and the bats made the situation even more shocking. This showed a severe lack of maintenance and proper upkeep. No guest should have to deal with that on vacation. The owner, Karan Chabbra, handled our concerns especially badly. Instead of taking responsibility, showing concern, or trying to resolve the problem professionally, he was dismissive, insensitive, and unhelpful. There was no real effort to improve things or make us comfortable. The response to complaints was unprofessional and lacked basic hospitality etiquette. We trusted Ramayana Travel to provide a certain standard of accommodation and service, but the reality was far from acceptable. A vacation should offer comfort, cleanliness, and peace of mind, not fear, stress, and frustration. I’d urge future travelers to be cautious about booking Villa Kampung Ubud. Until hygiene, room upkeep, pest control, and customer service are seriously improved, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone seeking a safe and pleasant stay.

We spent 10 days at The Kampung Ubud Villa and came away feeling at home. It was good value for money and gave us comfort, privacy, and a calm place to unwind, while still being close to Ubud. Our room stayed clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout. The villa’s design was beautiful, and the lush greenery around it added to the peaceful atmosphere. It also had an authentic Balinese village feel. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help. We’d gladly stay again and recommend it.

Worst place I’ve ever visited. We couldn’t stay even a few hours and had to leave. We wasted a lot of money on three days and two nights.

The rooms are nice, and the atmosphere at the kampung villa is quiet and calm. Food choices are limited, but what we tried was good. The dining experience could use more variety and improvement. Guest service also needs significant work. Staff could use more hospitality training and attentiveness, and improving those areas would make the stay much better.

We booked four villa rooms for three nights, and each had its own very clean private pool. The rooms were superb for a stay, and both the room and pool were cleaned daily. There’s also an outdoor kitchenette with gas and cutlery, enough to cook if you prefer. Breakfast isn’t a buffet. Guests choose from 8-9 options, which are tasty and enough for one person. We tried the floating breakfast too, a first for us, and really enjoyed it. The staff and service were excellent. Highly recommend for a family stay.
