My week at the dye studio was the reason I came to Bali, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I learned so much about Indonesian natural dyes and batik, and I really love what this place is trying to do. Komang was a kind, helpful instructor, and the other studio assistants were lovely too. I’d be happy to return.

For five days I got to explore traditional batik methods and work with natural dyes, and I had such a memorable time. The staff were welcoming and explained each step clearly, so even a beginner could feel comfortable. They also brought out tasty gluten-free snacks every day, plus free coffee. A lovely, mindful way to get creative around ubud, highly recommend.

My pieces came out beautifully, thanks to a great instructor who spoke English really well and walked me through everything in detail. The class was two hours, and I only wish I’d booked a longer workshop. Maybe I can come back for more tie-dye instruction next time!

After three days of batik at Threads of Life Dye Studio, I left with several beautiful pieces and felt confident about making batik myself. The instructor was fantastic, explaining things patiently and giving us room to experiment. I had a great time and would recommend the workshop to anyone curious about the craft.

I spent two days at the threads of life studio, and they flew by. It’s a peaceful, interesting place, and I learned a lot about dyeing, batik, and Indonesian plants. My teacher was so kind and took care to explain everything thoroughly. It was an amazing experience, and I hope I can come back one day.
