Luxury Bamboo Hostel

Sammy was so welcoming and attentive. We arrived very late, but he waited for us, and he also kindly kept our luggage while we went on an excursion. The place was pleasant, clean, and beautiful. We’ll definitely come back!

We spent 3.5 weeks at Sami’s place, and it really did feel like home. Sami was one of the kindest, most genuine people we met while traveling. Whenever something came up, he helped quickly and made sure we didn’t feel on our own. His lovely family added so much with their friendly hospitality. We felt safe and welcome the whole time. Our room was clean, well equipped, and fairly priced. The pool was great, and the lounge area was really comfortable, whether you’re a couple, two friends, or traveling solo. The bathroom could use a little renovation, but it didn’t bother us; the rest more than made up for it. Breakfast was great, especially the banana pancakes, which were the best we’ve ever had. We’d seen comments that the place was remote, but it didn’t feel that way to us. By scooter, Ubud city center is 15-20 minutes away, and being a little outside town let us see some quieter, beautiful corners of the area. Sami also lets guests use his kitchen in the afternoon if they’d rather cook than eat out every night. A couple of tips: Crocoffee down the street has amazing coffee and very friendly people. We got 4 tattoos there, including a full sleeve, for a very good price and great quality. BeautyByKris is worth checking out for cosmetic treatments, and Sesari Spa for a relaxing, professional massage. We’re grateful for the stay and will 100% come back. Thank you, Sami, for making it feel like home.

Sami made our stay so special. He’s incredibly friendly and helpful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better host. He speaks perfect English and Italian, and shared lots about their culture and philosophy. The apartment was nice and clean, and breakfast was delicious, made in front of us each morning. We could rent a scooter, get laundry done, and ask for any information we needed. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back!

Sami is what makes this guest house stand out. He’s one of the best people I’ve ever met, and I’d recommend staying here if you want to be near Ubud but away from the center’s craziness. There are plenty of good places in Bali, and this is definitely one of them. And the banana pancakes are the best on the island :P. I hope I can return soon!
