Villa Purnamasari

The river valley view from the pool was fantastic, with the gardens giving the place a real jungle feel and regularly bringing in butterflies. Even with all that greenery, the market and palace are only about a 15-minute walk away, and it was lovely to hear roosters and songbirds instead of traffic in the morning. The staff were terrific, always there when we got back from outings and happy to suggest things to see. Breakfast was included each day, with several tasty choices. The beds were comfortable and all had working mosquito curtains; the bathrooms were great too, especially the huge master ensuite. The villa was spacious and comfortable, and our rooms stayed spotless despite all the upkeep clearly needed. There were a few signs of wear, like peeling paint, but nothing major. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back if we get the chance.

We were just a minute from Ubud’s main street, but the villa felt like an oasis once we were inside. Our family of five had plenty of room, with three large, separate bedrooms and a lounge, kitchen and pool downstairs. There were interesting little spots to explore and fish to feed. Pasek and his son made us feel very welcome and shared helpful information about the area, places to visit and arranging a driver. Pasek also made such a good breakfast that I, despite usually only having coffee in the morning, ordered the same omelette as my wife for the rest of our stay.

My family all stayed together here, and it felt like a little paradise. We had separate, roomy huts to sleep in, then gathered by the pool for drinks and board games in the nice shared space. The private pool sits among jungle greenery where we watched birds and butterflies. Town was an easy walk away, and the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. Highly recommend.

It felt like having our own private jungle, even though the villa is just a few minutes on foot from central Ubud. The place is beautiful and works well for six people. The friendly on-site team, especially Pasek and Putu, can make breakfast and an optional dinner, and help arrange transport and activities. We hope to come back soon.
