The Hill Ungasan House

I felt very unsafe and uncomfortable here after money disappeared from my backpack pocket. We’d left the room for just two hours, and after someone came in to clean, the money was gone. Only one person had entered the room, but when I spoke to the manager, he said there was no proof. They did nothing to put things right and offered no help with the situation. Stealing from a room is unforgivable, and I definitely don’t recommend this place. If you stay here, don’t leave valuables in your room.

Good value, though the rooms needed more cleaning. I appreciated being offered a choice of three rooms. When I asked staff to change the sheets and tidy up, they didn’t do it. It’s okay for a short stay if you’re not fussy.

There was no one at reception, so checking in took an hour. The room was dusty, with cobwebs and mystery stains. While we were resting, someone kept trying the door and eventually barged in. Thankfully we’d put the latch on, so they couldn’t get inside. We checked out right away, booked the much nicer hotel next door, MaxOne, and asked for a refund. The receptionist said it was a cleaner who didn’t know the room was occupied. We got neither a refund nor an apology for an unpleasant and unsafe experience. Book MaxOne instead.

Easy to find since it's right on the main road, and the place is clean and cozy. The room is small, sure, but the price gets you AC, a flat-screen TV, and a clean bathroom, so it feels worth it. There’s a pool too, and the linen and towels were clean. A good choice for backpackers and budget travelers.
