Villa Bali Blue

The staff were friendly and helpful, which was a bright spot, but cleaning felt superficial. The floors were still dirty and the rooms dusty. Staff live in the lower part of the villa, with no separation from the main space, so sounds like children playing carried through and could be disruptive. The villa has a calm setting and impressive views, with lots of space, but the roads around it are completely unlit at night. That made going out after dark inconvenient and potentially unsafe. Every night we also heard loud, ongoing noises from the roof, like rustling plastic and large animals. The air conditioner leaked and made a disruptive noise, and leaks in several spots in the roof got our belongings wet. Downstairs, the large dining table at the entrance worked well for meals with our group. The kitchen seems recently renovated, but the equipment was disappointing. The pans were either too big or too small and in poor condition, the toaster felt flimsy, broken and cheap, and there was no coffee machine. The refrigerator was awkwardly placed, so its door banged into the wall. The living room was a letdown. The couch smelled bad, looked worse and was very uncomfortable, while the loungers had cigarette burns and holes. The downstairs bedrooms varied: one had no proper bed frame, just a mattress on stacked blue pillows, and another was acceptable but nothing special. Upstairs, the recreation area had a pool table covered in stains and only one cue, which was broken. With so little maintenance, it wasn't usable. The sparse decorations weren't appealing either, including a big blue poster that felt out of place and did nothing for the look of the room. The huge master bedroom felt strangely empty, with dark Chinese-style furniture, two tables and a couch, but little warmth or function. Its walk-in closet was made of cheap wood and had a shattered window, which felt unsafe. The bathroom was one of the better parts, with a good shower and a nice bath, though the taps sent water out awkwardly and the toilet kept running because its flush was broken. The other upstairs rooms were acceptable, nothing exceptional. Early in our stay, maintenance workers came in through a window to do repairs, which affected our privacy, although we could manage. The villa's size and views were impressive, but poor upkeep, cleanliness and uncomfortable furnishings made the experience worse. The helpful staff were a redeeming part of the stay; improving maintenance and cleaning could make a big difference.

The staff were very helpful, and we really enjoyed the dishes. Jimbaran seafood can come right to you, so there's no need to go to Jimbaran to try it. The spacious villa has a private pool, a nice view and a pleasant atmosphere. Recommended.

The management was great, and the staff were super helpful with everything. This very spacious villa has five rooms over two levels, all with ensuites, plus a private pool looking out toward the beach.
