Villa Ricca Eco Lodge

I spent three weeks here and really enjoyed it. The grounds are lush, and I liked the yoga room and meeting some nice fellow guests. The people working here were lovely, always smiling and attentive to the cleaning and gardens. Rooms are simple but practical, with a good hot shower. Nights were quiet, apart from the rooster in the morning.

I'm having a great stay here with my puppy Oréo. It's pet-friendly, the breakfast is delicious, and the staff are wonderful and take good care of guests. Rin deserves a special thanks for everything, as does Junk, who keeps an eye on my puppy when I'm away. Great value for money, and I definitely recommend this hotel! 💗

The garden, location and dogs were the things I liked most. Rooms are basic, but they do the job if you're traveling light as a backpacker or surfer. There's a shared kitchen with American coffee available all day, plus space to cook and keep things in the fridge. The staff are lovely, and breakfast is tasty. I did miss having a wardrobe, even a basic one, and air conditioning. I know the owners are working hard to improve things, though. Would I come back? Yes.

I booked close to my arrival and was told a check-in note would be left on the reception door. When I got there, nothing had been left, though the host replied on WA and helped me. The room was in poor shape, with spotted linen and towels that looked like they'd come from the trash. Dogs barked constantly in the yard outside the rooms, and one in a neighboring room made loud noises. I chose not to stay and moved elsewhere. After I left a review, the host threatened me, so I had to remove it from booking.com.
