Hotel Raja Ampat

I’m stuck here because we missed the boat to Sorong, and honestly, I think sleeping on the beach would be better. This is supposedly the only decent hotel in Waisai, but it’s way overpriced for what you get. The bathroom is dirty and smelly, the shower head looks 20 years old and sprays everywhere except where it should, and even after I cleaned the AC filters, the air conditioner still didn’t work. There’s no maintenance and no standards here. I don’t understand how they expect to attract customers. I’ll never stay here again. Maybe this sounds harsh, but it’s truthful. If you expect Western-style accommodation, go to a resort 30 minutes out of town. Everything here costs too much for what you get. I paid less in Sorong and got a 4-star hotel.

When I first arrived, the hotel was still under construction, so I figured there might be a lot of improvements later. The room seemed about right for the price. There were two cockroaches in the bathroom defending their territory, and the water smelled a bit. Still, it worked as a place to crash after a long walk at The WTC, also known as Waisai Torang Cinta. The hotel staff were welcoming and nice. One suggestion: even though I’m Indonesian, they should check my ID before letting me in 🙏😇

The food was my favorite part, especially the Indonesian-style cooking. Staff were friendly, helpful, and quick to try to sort out problems. The room was neat and clean. There were insects, but that didn’t bother me since it’s natural near the sea and forest. Just bring insect repellent. From the cottage, the view was amazing, with clear water and lovely coral around it. It was a comfortable place to stay, and the service was nice. The hotel also offers boat rentals and tours at a fairly cheap price for Raja Ampat. We had a really nice, fun trip and will come back to explore another island.

The location is central and the breakfast is nice and big. Some things in the room are already broken.
