RedDoorz Premium @ Kahai Beach Lampung

The rooms are basic but fairly clean. The AC is cold, the TV works, and there's coffee and tea in the room along with toothbrushes and towels. The food is okay too, not bland. For a honeymoon or staycation, it's okay, not bad. You can see the children of Krakatoa.

There's a direct sea view, plus a water park, cafe, places to relax, saung, and aesthetic photo spots. The bathroom has a bathtub, but there's no faucet, so I had to use the sink for wudhu. The cleaning tools would be better if the floor were karoet si, since it's sticky, maybe because the water has salt from being near the sea. Our room was comfortable, though the AC wasn't very cold. Some rooms are being renovated. The TV worked, and there's Wi-Fi, so you're okay even if there's no mobile signal. It's about 3O minutes from Kalianda, but it's worth trying for some family fun.

We were drawn to RedDoorz Premium @ Kahai Beach Lampung because it has water park access and is close to the beach, but reaching those areas costs IDR 40,000 per person. For swimming at the beach, wear footwear because there are lots of corals. I also wouldn't recommend the water park. It's poorly maintained and spooky. I'd first looked up RedDoorz Premium @ Kahai Beach Lampung and emailed them to make sure it was the right choice. RedDoorz customer service couldn't give me a satisfactory answer and only told me to check the website photos, so I initially decided not to book. But the trip from Jambi to Palembang was taking too long, and we thought we'd reach Lampung around midnight, so I booked one night for December 17th. The hotel is quite far from the main road. We arrived around 2 a.m., asked the staff if our booking had come through, and they confirmed it was ready. I paid cash because debit and credit cards weren't accepted, luckily I had some. We were shown to one deluxe room and one family room. In the deluxe room, the floor and sheets were dirty and the room was dusty. I'm allergic to dust mites, and so is my baby, so I can tell when a room isn't hygienic. There were lots of mosquitoes, so we asked for Baygon. The red towels were pretty rough and really uncomfortable. The family room had a dirty floor, badly installed curtains, a dirty bathroom, and no running water at the sink. There were no towels or soap either. I had to ask the staff, who didn't believe me until I said, "Please check the room yourself." We were exhausted after arriving around 2:00 AM, so we didn't move rooms or complain then. We're very disappointed with the service from RedDoorz and Kahai Beach Lampung Hotel.

Horrible, guys. The room door is hard to close, and only one pool is operating. After swimming there was no water to shower with, and in the middle of the night I had to use bottled mineral water to urinate. The lights went out too. The breakfast was fried rice, but the rice was raw. There are lots of nice views at other hotels. I'm rating this so others don't lose money. This is a loss.
