Afton Homestay Sikunir

Everything looks good in the TikTok promotional videos, but staying here was a total disappointment. The room wasn’t clean, service was bad, and the water often didn’t work. The road is full of potholes and very hard to access. This place feels like a scam.

Booking directly got us a super affordable price. Clean, comfy, and a great view! Highly recommended for a family stay.

I haven't actually been there, but I'm a FNAF fan, so of course I know Afton is the family from five night at freddy. I was just messing around and looking it up on google maps 😁😅

There are 10 rooms, and during our 3 days and 2 nights here, we had a very pleasant stay. The host, Mas Afton, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Just come with an open mind: this isn’t a 5 star hotel, so some things might not match your personal taste. That wasn’t an issue for us, and if you’re like us, you’ll have a memorable experience. For the best views, rooms 1 and 2 are options if they’re available: Room No. 1 faces Lake Cebong, while 2 looks toward the valley. Rooms 3, 4, 7, and 10 are also good, with extra-wide balconies. Rooms 1-4 are about 4 x 4 m, and rooms 5-10 are about 3 x 3 m. All rooms have bathrooms with hot showers and can fit 4-5 adults with extra beds. Breakfast isn’t provided, though staff can help order food. You’ll need to bring your own toiletries, including soap and towels. The lodging is in Sembungan Village, reached by a very narrow road or alley. If you’re not confident driving there, contact the lodging staff about a pickup, since a shuttle service is available for guests. You can leave your car at a parking area near the Sembungan Village entrance gate, ask staff to guide your vehicle to the lodging, or drive yourself if you want to test your driving skills (^ _ ^). It’s close to Sikunir hill. Post 1 Sikunir hill is about 1.8 km away on foot, and the walk to the top takes around 30 minutes to see the golden sunrise. That means there’s no need to get up at 2 am and take your vehicle out early in the morning. A few things could be improved: more trash bins, repairs to electrical installations in some rooms, and better matching the rooms provided to those ordered. Aside from that, we highly recommend this place if you want to get away from the city bustle and enjoy the natural scenery.
