The receptionist helped when I asked for a refund, but the money never came through, so I lost 270,000. I’d booked through booking.com and only found out after confirmation that the hotel was no longer partnered with them and was moving over to RedDoorz. Why was it still listed in the app? This was the worst hotel service I’ve had. VERY UNWELCOMING.

For that price, the small room was disappointing. They only told us at check-in that the water heater was dead, and they didn’t fix it. Showering in super-cold water at a very cold, high-altitude place in Dieng was miserable.

My friend and I were left out in the rain, soaked and exhausted, while the people there ignored us and played on their phones as they slept. I booked through an app on the 9th, and by the time I arrived, the place had changed its name from RedDoorz to Alesa. The service was poor from the start. There was some kind of gathering place, or maybe an office, in front of the gate, but nobody treated us kindly. They kept sending us back and forth to contact the hotel owner and told us to cancel through the app. I went back several times to ask the people there to confirm, but they seemed busy with their games and weren’t thinking about us. I was very disappointed.

I was exhausted and in a tight spot, so I stopped at the first inn I came across. The room was a shock: flies everywhere, stale-smelling sheets and pillowcases, no towels, and a TV with no signal.
