The location is right in the middle of town, though there’s no mountain view from the hotel. You have to step outside and walk around the block a bit. This is an old heritage hotel with a Dutch atmosphere, thick walls, and a gloomy feel. There are rooms with AC and without it. The weather is pleasant and breezy, so AC may not be needed, but you’ll have to open a window for fresh air. The dining restaurant beside the swimming pool is spacious and has a grand, old-fashioned feel. Some facilities could use better maintenance. I suspect the limited budget may be why that hasn’t happened.

On my Dieng trip back in 2007, I found the room comfortable and the breakfast excellent. I did wonder why there was no AC, until night came and I understood. It was a pretty funny moment.

The food was amazing, with Indonesian cuisine to enjoy, and the atmosphere was neat, clean, and impressive. The hotel’s interior and exterior both look attractive, with Dutch colonial touches that add to its charm. It’s one of the finest hotels in Wonosobo and Indonesia, and you can enjoy a mesmerizing landscape nearby. Its location also makes the hotel seem very high up.

The staff show guests a lot of respect, and the food is clean and delicious. It’s a charming hotel with an elegant, classic colonial-Javanese style, a beautiful atmosphere, and warm hospitality. One of the best places to stay in Wonosobo.

The staff were sweet and very courteous, and they were happy to help us explore the nearby Dieng Plateau. We ate very well, and breakfast was tasty and nicely presented. I’d gladly recommend the hotel and hope to return. Its old Dutch colonial architecture gives the place much of its charm. From the spacious lobby, with stained glass above the entrance, you can walk into a large dining hall with dark wooden furniture and ceiling lights. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean, with excellent beds. It faced the swimming pool, and the hotel had supplied a fridge and various little extras. The Wonosobo location also worked well as a base for exploring the beautiful plateau.
