We wanted a peaceful place outside Manado for three days before diving, somewhere with nature where we could relax and get over jet lag. Nayara Villa turned out to be just right. We spent half a day by the pool right in front of our room, enjoying the 30-31° water and the magnificent view of Siladen island and the volcano behind it. The other half-day was a hike to Mahawu volcano. It was easy to arrange, started exactly when agreed, and we went in a comfortable car. Even when it was time to get back to work, the fast Internet worked everywhere, in the room, pool area and restaurant, and was good enough for smooth remote desktop access to home. The food was excellent, and many thanks to the chef. Service was friendly, professional and attentive. We'd like to return, especially once the dive center opens. The house reef should be excellent, judging by the dive boats we saw dropping divers near the villa's pier.

The villa is beautiful, peaceful and perfectly maintained, and the staff were thoughtful, helpful and clearly cared about making our stay special. From arrival on, everyone made us feel welcome and looked after. Service was attentive and professional, at the level of a five-star luxury hotel. The food was outstanding every time: fresh ingredients, lovely presentation and incredible flavors. Each meal felt like dining at a Michelin-star restaurant. This was easily the best hotel I've stayed at. If you're after a luxurious, unforgettable experience, Nayara Villa Desa Budo is the place. Thanks to the whole team. We'll definitely be back, and highly recommend it.

We first found Nayara while looking for a place to paddle through the mangroves, since it's beside one of the mangrove forest parks. The resort has been active in protecting the natural environment, and the staff helped carry our gear to the dock and get us onto the water for calm early-morning paddles. We liked it so much that an accidental first visit turned into a longer stay split across two stops. This new resort is a wonderful find, well worth visiting even if it wasn't on your itinerary. The owner, a prominent businesswoman born in the area, wants to share her homeland's beauty, food and culture. She's brought together a thoughtful mix of rooms, art, furniture and amenities, with a friendly, enthusiastic and capable young team. In ten years of traveling in Indonesia, this was the best stay we've had. Full board means three multi-course meals a day, with a nice blend of Western and local dishes and some well-done fusion cooking. Many plates look Michelin-class, and taste just as good. It's also one of the finest places on the planet for a sunset. Sitting by one of the pools with a gin and tonic as the sun goes down over the ocean, islands and volcanoes feels close to paradise.

The room, view and pool were all great. Check-in was welcoming, and the staff were helpful, polite and always smiling. Thanks to Christopher for the special arrangements, Chef Jerry for the fabulous food and for balancing Asian and Western cooking so thoughtfully, and Titi & Fandi for the creative cocktails each day. Cheers!

The view of Manadotua is breathtaking, and this boutique hotel is a real gem in North Sulawesi. It's beautifully designed and private, and I was welcomed so warmly. Christ did everything possible to make me comfortable from the start. Titi took great care of us in the restaurant, and chefs Jerry and Otal are real artists. Their dishes with local spices and traditional ingredients were the culinary highlight of my trip through Sulawesi. I'll remember this place for a long time.
