The breakfast was excellent, with lots of choices, and the restaurant, bar, and bakery on site helped make the food quality very good. Staff were also very friendly and welcoming throughout the stay. The lobby gave us a great first impression, looking phenomenal, modern, and sleek. But the rooms and hallways were disappointing: they felt run-down, with stains on the carpets and walls, worn furniture, and grime in the corners.

I hope the management recognizes Ms. Elisse’s dedication. She made my stay in Yogyakarta and at ARTOTEL Suites Bianti memorable for the right reasons. I arrived on 14 January after a long, exhausting trip from Switzerland, with a very tight schedule. At check-in I found the reserved room smaller than I expected and not to my preference, so I asked about paying for an upgrade. I was tired, and the exchange could easily have turned unpleasant. The other receptionist on duty that evening was unhelpful and rather discourteous, but Ms. Elisse listened carefully and stayed calm, respectful, and warm. She offered clear, practical solutions and resolved the issue efficiently, lifting our mood after a tiring day. Her professionalism and outstanding service make her a real asset to the hotel and a wonderful example of hospitality done right.

Best! We stayed from 23-26 March 2026 in rooms 207 and 209. Non-smoking rooms weren’t available, so we had to take smoking rooms, but the crew assured us we’d be comfortable. The rooms were clean, though there were a few dirty spots that they cleaned quickly. The AC and hot water worked well, and they gave us a welcome snack. Amenities were replaced daily, the crew, including security, responded quickly, and the breakfast had varied, quite delicious food. The lobby, and I think the other rooms too, smelled nice. Amenities were complete, with an ironing board and iron in the room. The rate was still quite affordable, it’s easy to find, and local food places are nearby. Definitely recommended.

The staff were fabulous throughout our stay, warm, attentive, and consistently helpful. They’re one of the hotel’s strongest assets and deserve recognition. My room was spacious and well maintained, and the hotel was very clean, but I could hear much of the next room’s conversation through the internal adjoining door, which affected my comfort. Breakfast was lacklustre for a five-star hotel. The selection was adequate, but didn’t feel distinctive or elevated, and certainly not international. On our second breakfast visit, the coffees we ordered never came. We waited, then chose to have something very small and go elsewhere for a breakfast we could enjoy, rather than keep waiting. This Artotel feels unlike the lower-starred sister properties I’ve stayed at before, which had a more intimate, artsy character and a relaxed, less pretentious vibe I preferred. This one seems to be positioning itself as a more traditional five-star hotel, which is reasonable, but it loses some of the 'small is beautiful' charm and distinctive personality of the others. An enjoyable stay overall, with room to refine the five-star experience.
